I’m Joshua Carolan, and I’m running for UACT President. I will listen to and represent all CVUSD teachers as I strive to improve responsiveness to members, stand up for ALL educators’ priorities, and highlight teacher success while empowering educators to be the change agents of CVUSD. I will use my experience as a middle, high school, and specialty program teacher, passion for education, and law degree to effectively represent you. Thank you for your support.

Since becoming president, I have developed positive working relationships with the district staff and school board while striving to increase communication. I have worked diligently on behalf of our members, always making myself available, responding to member issues quickly and continuing to work on those issues until a resolution has been found. There is still more work to be done and I hope you feel confident in my ability to continue working for you.

I have been an elementary school teacher for 18 years. I am a product of CVUSD schools and am currently a parent of 2 CVUSD students. I am running for UACT Executive Board as the Upper Elementary Rep so that I can advocate for elementary teachers who have felt overlooked and ignored for years by the union we proudly support. Thank you!

Having taught 4th and 5th grades in CVUSD for 20 years, I feel I possess qualities and experience necessary to help address issues affecting our Upper Elementary teachers. My goal is to listen and advocate for the challenges facing these teachers, including their larger class sizes and ever-increasing curriculum and district expectations. My leadership qualifications include serving on School Site Council and Leadership teams as well as various curriculum and Measure I committees. Thank you.
